Dental implants are a replacement for natural teeth. They consist of an artificial root and tooth that looks and feels natural.

During the implant procedure, a titanium root is set into the jaw, where it fuses to the bone and becomes a permanent anchor for a dental prosthesis, like a ceramic crown.

The reconstructed root is what gives implants their natural feel. Pressure on the implant is passed to the jawbone when chewing, providing the right feedback sensation. This is why dental implants are considered to be the closest replacement for natural teeth.

Implant Procedure

Despite what you may think, most patients experience very little discomfort during the implant procedure. At Smile Design Clinic, we take every measure possible to ensure that our patients remain safe and pain-free during their treatment. The implant procedure is commonly reported to be no more uncomfortable than a routine tooth extraction.

Challenging Cases

Smile Design Clinic often takes patients that have been declined elsewhere due to the challenges of their needs. For example, some patients require that extra tissue be grown prior to their implants. We use state of the art techniques for bone-growing (GR) and gum-growing (periodontal surgery) to treat even the most difficult cases.

The implant procedure at our clinic is performed by a dentist who is certified by the International Team For Implantology. He is also one of their instructors, and is considered to be a leader in this field of treatment.
